Instinct, a San Francisco startup building a personal AI agent, has raised a $1 billion Series C at a $10 billion valuation, with Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Coatue backing the round. The company was founded roughly a year ago.
The raise comes about a month after Index Ventures and Benchmark co-led a $250 million Series B at a $2.5 billion valuation in late August — meaning the company's valuation roughly quadrupled in weeks. Total funding now exceeds $1.3 billion.
An agent for everyday errands
Instinct's assistant texts or calls businesses on a user's behalf to plan trips, buy groceries, book tickets, cancel subscriptions and handle concierge-style bookings. The invite-only service launched in August and still has no mobile app; users interact with it over SMS.
Founder Noah Shinn, previously a research scientist at Sierra, said the money will help bring Instinct to more people. The company has not disclosed revenue or user numbers.
