General Intuition, the AI lab spun out of gaming platform Medal in 2025, has raised $220 million at a $6.2 billion valuation. Investors named by the company include Valor Equity Partners, Atreides, Seven Seven Six, Point72, Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst.
The proceeds are earmarked for hiring more AI researchers.
The data advantage
Co-founder Pim de Witte also co-founded Medal, a platform for capturing and sharing gameplay clips. General Intuition argues that leading robotics and world models are trained on less than 1% of the action data it can potentially access through Medal — footage that pairs what a player sees with what they do.
The product is still early: the company released a research demonstration model called MIRA in June and is testing a commercial version with a limited set of customers while running a waitlist.
Reports differ on the round label and on the company's total funding to date; the $220 million amount, $6.2 billion valuation and investor list are consistent across sources.
