AI coding company Cognition is set to close a new funding round of around $1 billion that would value it at about $47 billion, Bloomberg reported on September 2, citing people familiar with the matter.

The round reportedly drew nearly $10 billion in investor interest, and the final amount could exceed the initial target. Talks were ongoing and terms could still change.

AI coding tools have become one of the most heavily funded categories in software, as companies race to build agents that can write, test and ship code with minimal human oversight.
